This video shows pictures of the Indische Legion which was just one of many foreign volunteer units in the German Army during World War 2. During WW1 over 600,000 Indians served in the British Army making them one of the largest units in the Allied forces. During WW2 the British Indian Army consisted of over 2.5 million men, making them the biggest armed force in History. During WW2, Indian independence leader Subhash Chandra Bose who was known as Netaji decided to ask Germany and Japan for help to defeat the British and to throw them out of India. He established Indian units in the Japanese and Italian Armies and likewise established the Indische Legion or Azad Hind Legion in the German Army. Many foreigners fought for the Germans including Arabs, Chechans, Croats, Albanians, Bosnians, Romanians, Bulgarians, Ukrainians, Slovaks, Lithuanians, Latvians, Estonians, Danes and Finns. The background music is "Horst Wessell Lied" or "Die Fahne" which was a popular song in Germany at the time. This video is solely for Historical purposes, i do not promote nor support Nazi idealogy. Please do NOT post any racist or anti-Semetic comments as they will be removed.
