A hindu man who married a Muslim girl was beheaded after a kangaroo court ordered his 'execution' at a village in Murshidabad district of West Bengal.
The villagers did not allow the man's hapless wife to approach the police for a fortnight.
The police said today that the girl Munera Bibi from Lakshanpur village met and fell in love with Shailendra Prasad from Bihar while she was working as a maid servant in Mumbai. They got married two and half years ago and the girl is now the mother of a 10-month-old child.
Religion was never a problem for the couple until she came to her own village in the district on July 1 with her husband who concealed his religious identity under the name Munna Sheikh.
But soon the girl's father Ansaria Sheikh became suspicious of his son-in-law's religion on July 14 and reported this to village elders. A 'salishi' (kangaroo court) comprising 22 members summoned Prasad and discovered his true religious identity. He was awarded 'death sentence', sources said.
On July 17 the man's beheaded body was found in a gunny bag in a jute field but as there was no complaint, the police failed to identify the person, the sources said.
Ten days later, the girl, her mother and brother went to Behrampore police station and lodged a formal complaint after which the incident came to light.
The police said three perons have been arrested in this connection.
"We tried to go to the police but the villagers forced us to stay indoors and threatened us with the same fate if we go to the police." the girl said.
The father of the girl and many other villagers are absconding.

- The media host will provide more opportunities for the anti-hindu member to speak: speak first and/or speak last and will provide him more byte time.
- The media host while asking christian/muslim member to respond will be servile, will rarely if ever ask difficult questions and will accept the churchist/islamic rhetorical, empty assertions at their face value.
- When the media host questions hindu members, the questions will be loaded and usually after the hindu member finishes speaking, the media host will provide a parting kick (having the last word) by damning the reasonable hindu position.
- hindu organisations will be blamed for violence even when there is no evidence. Responsible journalism reporting ethics get considered and truth censored only when churchist and islamic organisations carry out violence. Many times violence done by islamic/churchist organisations condoned or censored. Suppressio Veri and Suggestio Falsi is their standard approach to hindu organisations.
- Another puerile game they play is when covering a terror attack, they will not use the i(i-slam) word. They will show some rare muslim victim and project as if muslims are the victims not perpetrators of terror.
Indian media never ever does investigational stories on the millions of acres of land grabbed by church, church's funding, or use of loud speakers that blare out obnoxious noise from mosques that exceed by the large measure legally permitted sound levels.
This fooling around of hindus and anti hindu deceit by Indian media has gone on for too long. Edmund Burke is reported to have said "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing."
What can we do?
- Write to the Corporations to not sponsor/advertise in these channels that show dual standards
- Write to them that their association with these anti hindu media outlets will have costs. Actions including boycott of their Products that are advertised on these channels would get initiated. (organized campaigns)
- Make your friends, relatives and neighbors aware of the Anti hindu bias of these Indian media outlets. Word of mouth communication has enormous power.
