The Tamil Tigers in Canada & US are in fear after Tamils got arrested for laundering money to buy weapons in the United States. The Tamil is in fear because they support the Tamil Tigers and the people who were arrested work for the Tamil eelam WTM,TRO. Now they want to show as if they don't support the Tamil Tigers as well as the Sri Lankan government. They want to show now that they are helping to bring peace in Sri Lanka. Before they were put on the terrorist list in Canada, the Tamil Tigers supported a fundraising event called Pongu Tamil. The event was organized by the Tamil Tigers. Each event had a Tamil Tiger flag hung up, this shows the money that was fundraised went to support the tigers insted. Now they speaks as if they had not supported the Tamil Tigers. They say the Tamils live in the North and they are experiencing a bad life, this statment is untrue. There are many Tamils living in the south,Colombo city,Kandy city,Nuwaraeliya,gall,hambanthota... they get along peacfully with the Sinhalese people and the Sri Lankan government. There are many Tamil ministers in the Sri Lankan government, but they are not Tamil Tiger terrorists. Tamil Tigers are known as Terrorists through out the world, they use suicide bombers as weapons and young children as soilders. Even if the Tamil population got a piece of land to call their country, the leader does not want an election to create a real government for their country. The leader would like to rule the country himself, similar to Osama Bin Laden, and this is the reason the Tamil Tigers are considered a terrorist group. The Tamil Tiger supporters in Canada & USA saying this war was due to religious reasons when in fact it truely is not, because why are there many Tamils living in the south peacefully? the Tamil Tigers killed the former foreign minister in the Sri Lankan government because he's Tamil and they want to show this is a religious war, so they don't want any Tamil living in the South and showing people they get along with the southern part of the country. This is the real truth, the Media should report and broadcast the real truth by visiting the country and experiencing it's affect and not what is from the mouth of the terrorists.

2006/08/24/American authorities allege three of the accused travelled to New York from Canada to try to buy weapons, including missiles, launchers and AK-47s. The men are also charged with fundraising and money laundering through "front" charitable organizations and U.S. bank accounts.
Money to bribe a U.S. official - traced during an international anti-terrorism probe aimed at the Tamil Tigers - came from Montreal, the FBI said Thursday.
And two of the men arrested in the bribery case are former Montreal residents, adding more Canadian connections to a widening probe that has seen six other men from Canada arrested on charges of aiding a foreign terrorist organization, including money laundering, smuggling equipment and people, and trying to purchase anti-aircraft missiles, machine-guns and other military equipment.
Tens of thousands of dollars from Montreal were earmarked as a bribe for a U.S. federal agent who was posing as a corrupt immigration officer, pretending to allow Tamils to illegally enter the United States, the Federal Bureau of Investigation alleged in a sworn criminal complaint filed in a New York court.
The money's path was tracked as part of a large sting operation mounted by the FBI against alleged operatives of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), commonly called the Tamil Tigers, an organization banned as a terrorist group on both sides of the border.
So far a total of 14 people have been taken into custody in the joint FBI-RCMP probe.
First, three Canadians of Tamil descent were accused in New York City on the weekend of trying to buy military hardware after driving across the Canada-U.S. border to meet with a man they believed was a black-market arms dealer, but who was a federal agent, and a Tamil man, who co-operated with U.S. authorities in their probe.
Three other Canadian residents were arrested this week by the RCMP in Ontario, including an engineering graduate from the University of Waterloo who is accused of arranging student couriers to smuggle equipment into Sri Lanka to further the Tamil Tiger's cause.
A third set of criminal complaints unsealed in a New York court, against three people arrested in Buffalo as part of the FBI's probe, now reveal further Canadian links.
Thileepan Patpanathan and his brother, Sujeepan Patpanathan, moved to Buffalo from Montreal about six months ago, said Rodney O. Personius, a Buffalo lawyer who represented one of the men in court.
They lived in Montreal for about three years, he said.
The Patpanathan brothers are charged along with Logeswaran Krishnamoorthy of knowingly conspiring to bribe a public official to illegally bring other people from Sri Lanka. They were caught in a sting operation using the same Tamil informant.
An agent was introduced to co-conspirators as an officer with the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service who, for a fee, could help smuggle foreigners into the U.S. The man was, in fact, a federal agent and the meetings were recorded, the FBI said.
An offer of $6,000 US per person smuggled was offered, authorities alleged.

2006/04/11/Human rights watch and other groups have reported very clearly that there has been intimidation going on within the Tamil community in Canada," Day told reporters Monday afternoon.
Listing the Tamil Tigers under the Criminal Code means that any groups or individuals associated with them are also vulnerable to prosecution. It also means it is a criminal offence to participate in the activities of the Tigers, with a punishment of up to 10 years in prison.
"The decision to list the LTTE is long overdue and something the previous government did not take seriously enough to act upon," Day said in a release.
Canadian government is clearly determined to take decisive steps to ensure the safety of Canadians against terrorism."

Members of Canada's Tamil community say they are being aggressively pursued and extorted by Tamil Tiger agents raising money for attacks in their homeland, according to a new report.
Human Rights Watch says intimidating bagmen are pressuring Canada's Tamil population of about 250,000 to lend money, re-mortgage their homes or even skip meals to help fund the fight for a separate Sri Lankan state.
One man told OMNI Television he was asked to get a second mortgage on his house.
He said he knows some families have given $2,000, while others have given $5,000.
The man, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said some Tamils found they couldn't refuse the request "because their relatives still live in Sri Lanka."
Those who can't pay a requested sum are being warned they will be "taught a lesson," says the 45-page report released Wednesday.
"One individual who was unemployed when approached by the Tigers was told that he should cut one meal per day to enable him to give to the LTTE

Manchester United vs Sunderland (2-2) FA Premier League 3-10-2009 Full Highlights
Manchester United delved into their much-used box of late comebacks to rescue a2-2 draw against Sunderland.
Two weeks after Michael Owen's last-gasp winner against Manchester City, anton Ferdinand could not get out of the way of an off-target effort from Patrice Evra to grab United a point and deprive the Black Cats of their first Old Trafford win since 1968.
In truth, it lacked the thrill factor of a fortnight ago. And so poor was United's general performance that questions are bound to be asked about their ability to retain their Barclays Premier League title.
On the back of an eight-match winning run, facing opponents who had not won at Old Trafford for more than 40 years and managed by a man in Steve Bruce who was unable to boast even a solitary success against his old boss in 12 previous attempts, it was expected to be a stroll.
But Sunderland were the ones who adapted to the blustery conditions quicker. Indeed, it could have been argued United did not adapt at all.
Rare are the times an opposition goalkeeper comes to this ground and gets through an entire half without having to make a save. But this was one.
Craig Gordon did make one meaningful intervention, diving low to cut out John O'Shea's curling cross. Apart from that, the Scotland keeper was redundant.
anton Ferdinand, the one member of his family to start after brother Rio was consigned to the bench by Sir Alex Ferguson, produced an effective central defensive performance alongside the equally impressive Michael Turner.
Yet even they must have been surprised by how little they had to do.
With teenager Danny Welbeck handed only his second Premier League start, a tentative approach from one flank was to be expected. Maybe the same could also be said of Nani given his dismal display at Stoke seven days previously.
The Portugal international was no better, and this time Ryan Giggs was not on the bench to bail him out.
